A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with the rape of a 23-year-old woman in Clydebank, police have confirmed.
The incident took place in a lane off Alexander Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man is due to appear in court today.
A statement posted on the Argyll & West Dunbartonshire Police Division Facebook page this morning reads: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in Clydebank on a 23-year old woman in the early hours of Saturday, 1 August, in a lane off Alexander Street in the town.
"He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 4 August, 2020."
