Man charged in connection with rape of 15-year-old girl at football pitch

A MAN has been charged connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl at a football pitch in Oban.

Officers received a report at around 11.15pm on Saturday, July 25, of a serious sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl which happened at playing fields on Mossfield Avenue.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective inspector Karen MacLennan said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance during our investigation.”
