Man charged in connection with murder of young Scots dad Sean McKay

A man has been charged in connection with the alleged murder of young Scots dad Sean McKay.

Police this morning confirmed a 38-year-old man had been charged after his initial arrest on Tuesday evening.

He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

We told of how 23-year-old Sean was attacked and seriously injured as he was walking home from work on Sunday night.

Members of the public on St Margaret's Avenue in Dalry, North Ayrshire rushed to Sean's aid but he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Police said they were treating his death as murder following the results of a post mortem.
