A man has been charged in connection with the alleged murder of former Paisley man Sean McKay.
Police this morning confirmed a 38-year-old man had been charged after his initial arrest last night.
He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The young dad, was attacked and seriously injured as he was walking home from work on Sunday night.
Members of the public on St Margaret’s Avenue in Dalry, North Ayrshire rushed to Sean’s aid but he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Police said they were treating his death as murder following the results of a post-mortem examination.
A Police Scotland statement said: “A 38-year-old-man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Sean McKay in Dalry.
“The man is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 13 October, 2021.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
