Man charged in connection with Manchester synagogue attack

  • A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal terrorist attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue last October.
  • Hekmat Omar Ali Hakim was charged with failing to disclose information regarding terrorist activity under Section 38b of the Terrorism Act 2000.
  • Worshippers Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby were killed in the attack , while three other men suffered serious injuries but have since been discharged from hospital.
  • Counter Terrorism Policing North West stated that the charge follows a meticulous investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
  • Assistant chief constable Rob Potts highlighted the charge as a significant development and confirmed that survivors and bereaved families have been updated.
