Drugs cops in Hamilton have recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £17,000.
That’s after searching two flats and a car in the town on Wednesday of this week (July 21). They also recovered a five-figure sum of cash.
That led to the arrest of a 49-year-old man who has been charged in connection with the recovery.
He has been released on undertaking to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Laura Sands told Lanarkshire Live: “This recovery highlights our continued commitment in Lanarkshire to disrupting drug activity and supply within our communities.”
The bust is the fourth sizeable seizure of the last two weeks.
We reported earlier this week that police had recovered over £25,000 in drugs from properties across Lanarkshire over the past week.
That included a substantial haul from properties in Wishaw, with £11,800 worth of cannabis and £3470 cash recovered - that saw a 24-year-old man arrested and charged.
Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit officers recovered £700 worth of cannabis and £600 worth of cocaine after a vehicle was stopped in East Kilbride.
Two men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested and charged in connection with that incident, with officers recovering £9800 worth of cannabis and £2760 worth of cocaine from a property in Carluke.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.
