Man charged in connection with death of tragic Wishaw man Thomas Nelson

A man has been charged in connection with the death of tragic Wishaw man Thomas Nelson.

Cops were called to Carron Street, Pather, Wishaw at around 2.05am this morning.

24-year-old Thomas Nelson, known as ‘Tam’, was rushed to Wishaw University Hospital but died a short time later.

Police have now said a 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with his death.

The 28-year-old is expected to appear in court tomorrow.

Detective Inspector John Easton from the Major Investigations team said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Thomas at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing and we are keen to talk to anyone who may have information or who may have seen what happened.”

Following the death, heartbroken friends and family have paid their respects to the 24-year-old who had a ‘heart of gold’.

One pal wrote: “RIP Tam I can’t believe I am writing this.

"Totally gutted and heartbroken for your family.

"What a sad, sad world we live in.

"World is so cruel.

"Thinking off your mum and all your family at this sad time.

"No one deserves that. No words."

Another friend said: “Waking up this morning to the sad news of another young life taken far to soon.

“Tam Nelson. My thoughts and prayers are with all friends and family at this sad time."
