A man has been arrested following a break-in at a foodbank in Dundee.

£1000 worth of damage was done to the premises on Kingsway East in the city on November 12.

Officers from Police Scotland said the incident had “deeply upset” the local community.

A 52-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been charged with the theft of food parcels and a wheelbarrow and also causing a £1000 worth of damage.

He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and should appear at court in due course.

Dundee Community Investigation Unit’s Sergeant Lee Bain said: “This has been a crime that has deeply upset the local community, and we would like to thank everyone who shared our witness appeal or called us with information.”
