Man charged in connection with hit and run in Glasgow south side

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident in Glasgow's southside.

The incident occurred on Pollokshaws Road around 3pm on Tuesday, April 13.

Police were called following reports that a car had mounted the pavement and struck a pedestrian, before driving from the scene.

The pedestrian, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and was later released.

The car involved was later traced in Greenlaw Way and armed officers carried out searches in the area for the occupants, with no result.

A 29-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man has now been arrested and charged following an incident on Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow, which occurred on Tuesday, 13 April, 2021.

The man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 21 April, 2021."
