Man charged after West Lothian road crash which killed two friends from Bathgate

A man has appeared in court following a road crash which killed two young friends in West Lothian.

Police have confirmed that a 25-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the double fatal crash, which happened on the A706 Longridge Road in Whitburn on August 29 last year.

Friends Troi Lawton (23) and Connor Elgey (19) from Bathgate both died in the incident.

The 25-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries at the time, while two male passengers were also treated by medics for life-threatening injuries.

Police Scotland said today: "A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double fatal road crash on the A706, Longridge Road, Whitburn, on Saturday, 29 August, 2020.

"He appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court today, Tuesday, March 2, 2021."
