Man charged after weapons bust on Glasgow property

A man has been arrested and charged after a police firearms bust at a property in Glasgow.

Cops swooped on Bishopsgate Gardens on Tuesday morning, April 7, after specialist officers intercepted a disguised stun gun in the post.

Police Scotland Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), alongside officers from the National Crime Agency, discovered a further two stun guns and three other weapons inside the property.

All of the weapons found have now been sent off for forensic analysis.

A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with alleged firearms offences.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on July 8.

The NCA’s John McGowan, operations manager for the OCP, said: "Today’s operation has seen a number of dangerous weapons taken out of circulation, and demonstrates our ongoing determination to protect the people of Scotland.

“The Organised Crime Partnership will continue to work with partners like Border Force to do just that.”
