Man charged after toddler plunges from window of top floor Scots flat

A man has been charged in connection after a toddler plunged from the window of a top floor flat in Barrhead.

Police confirmed that they had arrested a 34-year-old in connection with the incident.

We previously told how a two-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after she plunged from a fourth floor window in the East Renfrewshire town.

Emergency services raced to Craighead Way at about 8.25pm on Thursday September 2 after the horrifying incident.

The toddler was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where she was treated for serious injuries.

However, she has now been released.

Police launched an investigation into the incident and have now charged a man.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal. The child has been released from hospital."
