Man charged after thousands of pounds of cigarettes, booze and scratchcards were stolen

A man has been charged after thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes, alcohol and scratchers were stolen from a shop.

The burglary happened on Bentinck Road, Radford, when a convenience store was broken into between 2.50am and 4.20am on Tuesday (June 29) morning.

Police officers were called shortly afterwards and launched an investigation.

Callum Fearon, 29 of London Road, Nottingham, has now been charged with burglary in connection with the incident.

Fearon appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody.

He will appear at Nottingham Crown Court on August 2.

Sergeant Liz Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Burglaries like this cause considerable cost and inconvenience and to local businesses and are taken extremely seriously by Nottinghamshire Police. That’s why we have dedicated teams of detectives on hand to investigate every report we receive.”
