Man charged after taxi driver viciously attacked in Dundee

A man has been arrested and charged after a taxi driver was attacked in Dundee.

The motorist was assaulted in the city's Yeaman's Lane on April 17.

Police soon launched an investigation, treating the incident as a serious assault.

Officers confirmed on Tuesday that a 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection.

The man was cuffed by cops on Sunday, April 25.

He was due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on April 26.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 37-year-old man was arrested and charged on Sunday in connection with the serious assault of a taxi driver in Yeaman’s Lane, Dundee, on April 17.

"He was kept in custody and was due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on April 26."
