Man charged after serious assault outside Glasgow takeaway

A man has been arrested following an alleged assault outside a Glasgow takeaway.

As reported by Glasgow Live, a 30-year-old man was rushed to hospital following the alleged incident outside an eatery on St George’s Road, near to Claredon Place.

Members of the public came to the man’s aid and called an ambulance.

Police said the victim would be "permanently scarred".

A police spokesperson said: "Police can confirm that a 49 year-old man has been arrested and charged after a 30 year-old man was seriously assaulted in St George's Road, Glasgow around 9.50 pm on Sunday 25 August 2019."

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
