A man will appear in court tomorrow (Monday) after an attack in which a man was stabbed with a "samurai sword."
Emergency services were called to Delph Lane, in Whiston, to reports of the stabbing at around 4.55pm on Tuesday (June 1).
The area around Stuart House flats was cordoned off after the man in his 30s was attacked with what witnesses said may have been a "samurai sword".
He suffered wounds to his wrist and neck and remains in a stable condition in hospital.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Following extensive enquiries, a man was arrested in the Kirkby area yesterday (Saturday, June 5).
"46-year-old Edward Doughty of Stuart House, Whiston has now been charged with Section 18 wounding; dangerous driving; and criminal damage, all arising from the same incident.
"Doughty has been remanded in custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court tomorrow, Monday June 7."
