He stole 'numerous grocery items and alcohol', say police, before 'taking a Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal charity box'.

Christopher Hughes of Cornwallis Road, Wigan, has now been charged with the commercial burglary of the store, police have revealed.

In a statement, officers from Greater Manchester Police's Wigan West team said: "Christopher Hughes, of Cornwallis Road, Wigan, has been charged with commercial burglary at Asda Soho Street.
