A 32-year-old man has been charged after a police officer was injured by a car in Kenton, north-west London.

Ricky Johnson, also known as Ricky Preddie, of Harrow, was charged with grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop and driving without insurance.

The allegations relate to an incident in Windermere Avenue, Kenton, on Wednesday last week when police tried to stop an Alfa Romeo car.

The car then crashed into a female officer, causing her leg and neck injuries.

Johnson, who was arrested on Tuesday, was due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
