A man has been charged after a pensioner was 'seriously assaulted' in East Kilbride street attack.
The 69-year-old woman was injured after the alleged incident on Calderwood Road, East Kilbride, around 11.25 am yesterday.
She was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital where medical staff describe her condition as serious but stable.

Now a 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
He is due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Police taped off a crossing near to Hunter and Maxwellton primary schools, and enquiries are ongoing after the alleged incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident on Calderwood Road, East Kilbride, around 11.25 am on Saturday, 30 October, 2021 in which a 69-year-old woman was allegedly seriously injured.
"He is due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, 1 November, 2021."
