Man charged after pedestrian hit by car in South Lanarkshire

A man has been charged in connection with an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a car.

The 47-year-old man was hit by a small silver Peugeot at Anderson Gardens in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, on May 29.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to "life-threatening injuries".

Police say a 37-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
