Man charged after mosque window smashed in East Renfrewshire

A MAN has been charged after a mosque window was smashed in Renfrewshire.

Emergency services attended Masjid Yusuf in Clarkston Community Centre around 5:30pm on Wednesday, after an act of vandalism was reported.

Police Scotland launched an investigation into the incident and have now charged a 31-year-old man in connection.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with smashing a window in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire.

“The incident happened around 5.40pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at a premises on Stamperland Gardens.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
