A MAN has been charged after drugs worth almost £100,000 and a firearm with ammunition were found in a property in Glasgow.

Officers discovered heroin, with an estimated street value of £90,000, along with a firearm, and ammunition at a property on Auckland Wynd in the east of the city on Wednesday.

A 62-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

Police said he is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we continue to work to remove them from our streets.

“Information from the public is vital. We’d urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs to contact us on 101.

“Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
