Man charged after death of Rangers fan Cameron McMillan in Motherwell

A man has been charged after a Rangers fan died following a disturbance in Motherwell in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the scene in Quarry Street, Motherwell , North Lanarkshire, at around 5.50am on Sunday and found the body of a 23-year-old man, named locally Cameron McMillan.

Police said that a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland statement read: "The 21-year-old man is due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff court on Monday 20 May 2019."
