An investigation was launched and, days later, the alleged vehicle involved in the crash was found.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the incident but he was released pending further enquiries, reports the Daily Record.

Officers confirmed on Wednesday evening that a man, aged 20, has been charged, with a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “With reference to our previous releases regarding the death of an 18-year-old man following a fatal road crash on Crow Road, Glasgow around 12.20am on Saturday, September 11, 2021, please note a 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with this crash.

"A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Aidan, who worked at McDonalds, was due to start at Dundee University just days after his passing.

In a heartbreaking statement released at the time, his family said: “Aidan was treasured by his family, and well loved and respected by his friends and community.

"Aidan left Hyndland Secondary School in the summer, and was going to be moving to Dundee next Saturday to attend Dundee University.

"He created a bright future for himself and was really looking forward to these opportunities and challenges. It is very cruel that he has been robbed of his life in this way.

"The family would like to thank friends, in particular Aidan’s friends, and the wider community, for their love, support, and kindness."
