Man charged after cyclist stabbed and two others injured in Renfrewshire

A man is due in court after a cyclist was stabbed and two others injured on a cycle path in Kilbarchan.

The incident happened near Nether Johnstone Small Holdings on Milliken Road around 10.20pm on Wednesday.

A 37-year-old man was stabbed and suffered a number of other serious injuries.

He was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

A 29-year-old man also suffered serious facial injuries was also taken to hospital and an 18 year old sustained minor facial injuries not requiring medical treatment.

Detective Constable Colin Leggat of Paisley CID said:"A 30-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with this and is due to appear at court on Monday, 1 June. 

"Enquiries into this incident continue and anyone who can help is urged to contact 101, quoting incident 4285 of 27 May, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
