Man charged after break-in at Co-op

A man has been charged after allegedly breaking into a store in Pitlochry.

The 40-year-old is said to have broken into the Co-op on the village’s West Moulin Road between 2am and 2.30am on Wednesday, August 21.

Tobacco and a sum of money totalling three figures was stolen during the raid.

Police Scotland is also currently investigating another Pitlochry break-in at McKays Hotel on Atholl Road, which took place two days later between 1am and 6.15am.

Enquiries into the hotel incident are ongoing.
