Emergency services were called to a vacant building on Clarke Street at Southbank just before 1:00pm on Friday amid reports three men had been involved in an altercation.

Police alleged a 36-year-old man was set on fire and suffered serious burns.

The 34-year-old man and another 33-year-old man were arrested at the scene.

Authorities said the younger man was in hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
