A Theodore man has been formally refused bail after he allegedly tried to rob someone of their Mercedes-Benz using a Taser.
Stanley Connors, 26, fronted the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday via audio-visual link from a remote room.
As Special Magistrate Margaret Hunter charged him with a dozen new offences, he put his head on a table.
Mr Connors did not enter pleas to the charges, which included attempted robbery, two counts of assault, one count of dangerous driving, and three counts of riding in a stolen motor vehicle.
The magistrate said Mr Connors had a number of other matters before the courts.
She said the attempted robbery charge related to an incident on January 6, when Mr Connors allegedly attempted to steal a man's 2014 Mercedes and had on him a conducted electrical weapon.
He is also alleged to have intentionally damaged the car.
In a statement issued by ACT Policing on Friday morning, officers said they arrested Mr Connors after "a large police operation in Holt on Wednesday to locate the 26-year-old".
At the time, a police net was thrown around several large residential blocks in the Belconnen suburb.
Fearful residents were advised to lock their doors and stay inside when police said the alleged offender was in the area, and moving from one property to the next.
A major police cordon and contain operation was set up as three roads were closed to traffic: Drake-Brockman Drive, McCabe Crescent and Macnaughton Street.
The lockdown continued for a number of hours until residents were advised that the threat had eased.
In the statement on Friday, police said they arrested Mr Connors in Banks about 2.25pm on Thursday.
They said they also later arrested a 20-year-old Fisher woman at Belconnen in connection with the stolen vehicle.
"[She was charged with] driving a stolen motor vehicle, unlicensed and aggravated dangerous driving as well as drug possession," police said.
Mr Connors was represented in court on Friday by legal aid lawyer Chris Brown, who said his client would not apply for bail.
Ms Hunter formally refused it, and remanded Mr Connors in custody until his next court appearance on February 2.
