25 year-old to face court after allegedly firing an air rifle at Bolton Point

NSW Police have charged a man after he allegedly discharged an air rifle in a public place at Bolton Point on Friday.

Police said the 25 year-old was apparently shooting at birds on a private property on Quigley Street, Bolton Point around 4.30pm on December 13.

The matter was reported on Sunday, police said.

officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District arrived at the property and spoke with the man before allegedly locating and seizing a loaded air rifle inside the property.

The man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station.

He was charged with use firearm in or near public place and not keep firearm safely.

The man was refused bail and was expected to face Toronto Local Court on Monday.
