Man charged after allegedly coughing in the face of another man in Aberdeenshire town

A man has been charged after allegedly coughing in the face of another man in an Aberdeenshire town.

Officers from Police Scotland cuffed the 60-year-old in relation to the incident which took place in a car park in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie at around 11.10am today.

The incident is believed to have come about following an arguement.

Cops stressed that this behaviour can cause distress and anxiety during the coronavirus outbreak.

A Police Scotland statement read: "A 60-year-old man has been charged in relation to an incident that happened in a car park in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie around 11.10am today.

"The 60-year-old allegedly deliberately coughed at another man following an argument.

"A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"This behaviour can cause a lot of distress and anxiety in the current climate and we will not tolerate this."
