
A man will appear in court on Sunday after allegedly choking a child in a domestic-related incident at Rutherford.
Police say the 27-year-old man became involved in an argument with a 44-year-old woman and became aggressive at 2pm on Saturday.
It is alleged he turned and grabbed a five-year-old boy by the throat and lifted him off the ground, before letting him go onto a lounge.
The man left the house and the incident was reported to police.
Police arrested the man at a hotel on Castlereagh Street, Sydney at 9.45pm.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with intentionally choke person without consent.
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court .
