Man Charged After Allegedly Attempting To Shimmy Onto A Cruise Ship In Sydney’s Circular Quay

A man has been charged after he allegedly attempted to shimmy onto a cruise ship by climbing its mooring lines in Sydney.

At about 3pm on Saturday, a man — wearing a hoodie, track pants and a pair of sandals — was seen allegedly attempting to climb the mooring lines of the Carnival Adventure cruise ship, which was docked in Sydney’s Circular Quay.

Shortly after, a police boat arrived at the scene, in which the man was found still on the mooring lines alongside a crowd of spectators, 9News reports.

Authorities say the lines were lowered towards the boat, leading to the arrest of the 29-year-old man, who was taken to Day Street Police Station.

Per the publication, the man has since been charged with three offences in relation to unauthorised entry.

Since then, a TikTok of the alleged incident has gone viral, with many punters cracking jokes about the bizarre stunt.
