Man charged after alleged hit-and-run death

A man has been charged after the death of another man whose body was found on a roadway in southwest Sydney.

At about 8pm on Friday night, emergency services were called after reports a body had been found on a road in Homebush West.

A 44-year-old man was found on the roadway with extensive head injuries.

Paramedics attended but he died at the scene. 

NSW Police established a crime scene to investigate the incident. 

On Sunday morning, officers executed a search warrant on a home at Chester Hill and arrested a 37-year-old man.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning death, failing to stop and assist after a vehicle impact causing death and larceny.

He was refused bail and will appear before Bankstown Local Court on Monday, October 30.
