Man charged after 20-year-old woman struck by car in Shettleston

A man has been charged with road traffic offences after a young woman was hit by a car in the east end of Glasgow.

The 20-year-old was struck on Old Shettleston Road at around 9pm on Friday, 20 August 2021 and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she remains for treatment.

Officers confirmed a 45-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers have charged a 45-year-old man with road traffic offences after a 20-year-old woman was struck by a car on Old Shettleston Road, Glasgow.

"The incident happened around 9pm on Friday, 20 August, 2021. The woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she remains for treatment.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
