Man causes rammy in Hamilton store

A Hamilton man has admitted a string of charges arising from a disturbance in the town centre.

Neil Dewar, 48, of Grammar School Square, shouted abuse and threats in Iceland, Brandon Street, on March 28.

He struck Andrew Hainey on the body in the store, punched Thomas Moffat in Hope Street and stamped on a police officer’s foot.

Dewar appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week and was given an electronic tagging order.

This prevents him leaving his home between 7pm and 7am each day for four weeks.
