Man caught with stash of drugs after trying to hide evidence in front of police

Two men have been arrested during a police operation which led officers to find drugs worth £15,000 alongside £5,000 in cash.

A police patrol spotted two men behaving suspiciously in Seaforth at around 10pm on Friday (December 4) night. The men, aged 24 and 30, were parked up on Harrowby Road in Seaforth.

Whilst being spoken to, the 24-year-old was suspected of trying to hide something. After a search police found a bag of cocaine, cash and two mobile phones.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

The 24-year-old was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled Class A drug and possession of criminal property.

Police found on six wraps of cocaine on the 24-year-old during a second search while he was in custody.

Police then searched a property on Alexandra Road, Waterloo where they found a large amount of uncut Class A drugs, with a street value of £15,000 as well as a further £5,000 in cash.

The two men were questioned overnight and have now both been released pending further investigation.

A police spokesmen said to the ECHO : "Anyone with information on this case or anyone involved in the supply and distribution of illegal substances across Sefton or the wider area, should get in touch. Help us keep our communities safe."
