
KHON KAEN: A man caught on video breaking into a shop in Muang district was arrested on Sunday with stolen items.
Police from Muang police station arrested Sarawut Prachumchon at a house in Muang district and found mobile phones, notebook computers and other items stolen from Chai Charoen Charter shop on Wednesday.
The stolen goods was kept inside the car the 36-year-old suspect used on that day. A pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a crowbar were seized at his house.
Deputy police station chief Pol Lt Col Wongsakorn Wanchai said Mr Sarawut told investigators that he was unemployed and needed money to take care of his family -- and buy methamphetamine pills.
Deputy provincial police commander Pol Col Noppadon Phetcut said police records showed the man committed theft on six occasions and was released from prison in 2016.
He was charged again with theft and breaking into property.
