A man in California has been caught on camera licking a doorbell for several hours.
Video footage taken from a surveillance camera outside the Salinas home shows the moment a man licks the doorbell while looking into the camera.
Homeowner Sylvia Dungan posted the footage to social media as a way of warning people in the area.
33-year-old Roberto Daniel Arroyo has since been charged with prowling and petty theft, according to Kion 546.
Ms Dungan said the surveillance system alerts them when there is movement by the front door.
She added: “I thought, boy there’s a lot of traffic. I go, 5 in the morning? My son doesn’t get him until 6am well then who the heck is that?”
In the footage the suspect comes into the frame multiple times between 2am and 5am.
He reportedly went to a neighbour’s house too.
Officials with Salinas Police Department located the man shortly after the video footage was placed online.
Because the charges are misdemeanours, he was not arrested.
