Man caught driving 'nearly four times over the limit' at 9.30am

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and found "nearly four times over the limit" at 9.30am.

The PSNI say that they received a report of a person driving whilst drunk, and following the arrival of officers, the man was taken to Musgrave Custody for a reading.

This found he was nearly four times over the legal drink drive limit, at a time when roads are busy.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Whilst on duty this week C Section received a report of a person driving their vehicle whilst drunk.

"Following swift arrival of Police, this person was taken to Musgrave Custody where they gave an evidential reading of nearly 4 times the drink drive limit.

"This incident occurred at 0930 hours when there were members of the public using the roads.

"There is NO excuse to drive when you are under the influence of alcohol. With the help of the Community we were able to arrest this person and charge to Court where they will be dealt with appropriately."
