Man carrying machete in broad daylight sparks police presence

A man reportedly brandishing a machete in broad daylight sparked a police presence this afternoon.

Officers were called to Kensington at around 1pm, today, January 21, to reports that a man with a machete was cutting bushes on Brae Street.

And a short time later, two males were reportedly seen making off in the direction of Jubliee Drive.

They were described as two black males, aged between 16 and 20 years old.

One of the two men was dressed in a grey tracksuit, while the other was wearing black clothing and carrying a bag.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing in the area to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police , said: "Officers are currently in Kensington following reports of suspicious circumstances this afternoon, Tuesday, 21 January.

"At around 1pm, it was reported that a man in possession of what was described as a machete had been seen cutting bushes in Brae Street.



"A short time later, it was reported that two males were seen making off in the direction of Jubilee Drive.

"They were described as black males, around 16 – 20 years old, with one wearing a grey tracksuit and one wearing black clothing and carrying a bag.

"Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing in the area to establish the full circumstances.
