A carjacking victim was dragged by his car Monday evening in Bucktown on the North Side.

A gunman approached the 40-year-old as he entered his parked red Honda Accord about 8:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago police said.

The gunman then entered the Honda Accord and drove off while the 40-year-old hung to the car door, police said. He eventually let go of the car.

The 40-year-old man was taken to Saint Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center with injuries to his hands and knees along with pain in his ribs, police said. He was listed in fair condition.

An hour earlier Monday evening, an off-duty Chicago police officer was carjacked in Calumet Heights on the South Side.

The 36-year-old was southbound in her white 2021 Kia sedan about 7:21 p.m. in the 8900 block of South Euclid Avenue when a black SUV pulled in front of her car, forcing her to stop, police said.

Her vehicle was found early Tuesday morning with no occupants inside.
