Man 'calls boy, 12, c*** and hits him in face' after he refused to move

A man reportedly punched a 12-year-old schoolboy in the face, leaving him covered in blood, after he refused to move out of his way.

The youngster was in his school uniform when he was attacked outside a shop in Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland, at around 10am yesterday.

The attacker told the boy to move along because of social distancing before grabbing him by the neck and punching him, a source told Dublin Live.

The pupil's nose was 'pumping blood' and his eyes were 'bloodshot' following the assault, with Gardai now searching for the man involved.

A source told Dublin Live: "A 12-year-old boy was punched in the face today by a grown man at the shops.

"The man approached them calling him a c*** and told him to move along because of social distancing.

"He then pushed him into the shop by the neck and punched him."

Dublin Live also understands that a video has been circulating of the moments following the attack.

They added: "The poor child's nose was pumping blood and his eyes were bloodshot.

"He was just going to get some rolls in the shop and was brutally assaulted.

"The man could clearly see that the boy was young and in his school uniform but still hit him."

A Garda spokesman confirmed the shocking incident to Dublin Live.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault at Kingswood, Tallaght on 3 September at approximately 10.30am where a male youth was assaulted."

The spokesman added: "They suffered non-life threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
