Man busted for filming teen over six years

A man has been charged by NSW Police with filming a teenage girl with cameras hidden in her house. (AAP)

A teenage girl was spied on and filmed through cameras illegally hidden in her home for six years, police allege after arresting a man in Victoria.

An investigation began in May 2020 after the devices were found concealed in a home near Canberra.

A 67-year-old man known to the girl was arrested in Victoria on Tuesday.

The man was extradited to NSW, and charged with five aggravated counts of filming a person in a private act without consent.

Police say he filmed the girl for six years from the age of 11.

It will be alleged the man hid multiple cameras and devices in rooms frequented by the girl, police say.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Thursday.
