Man bursts into Dublin house and seriously assaults woman in terrifying attack

One person has been charged after a man entered a Dublin house and seriously assaulted a woman in a terrifying west Dublin attack.

The man is due to appear in court this morning in relation to the incident which occurred in Blanchardstown on Sunday.

Gardai said that the suspect in his 30s entered the house and 'seriously assaulted' the woman, who is in her 40s, in the Whitestown Grove area.

The alleged attacker was arrested in relation to the investigation a short time after and was detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station where he has since been charged.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We have arrested and charged a man following an assault incident that occurred at a house in the Whitestown Grove area of Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, on 7 June.


"It is reported that at approximately 1pm the man, aged in his 30s, entered the house and proceeded to seriously assault a woman, aged in her 40s."



He added: "Gardaí arrested the man in relation to this investigation.

"He was detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice 1984 and is now due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court."
