A garda probe has been launched after man allegedly threatened to kill a tanning shop owner in south Dublin.
The incident occurred at around 12pm on Monday, when a man "burst" into a busy tanning shop in Tallaght village.
Terrified staff and customers - including a pregnant woman - were trapped in the salon for up to an hour before the man fled.
Witnesses say that the man threatened to kill a member of staff before Gardai arrived at the scene.
Shop worker Shu Ping told Dublin Live about how the man intruded into the salon.
Ping said: "He came in through the front door, started moving straight towards me in a very aggressive way, and pushed a trolley.
"I had been doing a client's hair and the trolley almost hit her.
"There was a number of clients in the salon at the time, one of whom was heavily pregnant and was just there looking for a relaxing time.
"Another man came after him and dragged him out. If this man hadn’t come after him, I think he could have beat me up."
Ping added: "There is no reason he should have treated me like that. I don’t deserve it."
Another source told Dublin Live: "A man burst into Salon Express in Tallaght village on Monday afternoon at 11:55am.
"The man came in and threatened to kill the owner. Customers were locked inside for an hour.
"Gardai arrived at the scene at approximately 1:20pm."
A spokeswoman for An Garda Siochana confirmed that the incident is being investigated.
She told Dublin Live: "Gardai in Tallaght are investigating an incident of public order at a premises in Tallaght village on Monday 17th June 2019 at approximately 12pm.
"Investigations are ongoing."
