A man reportedly placed an imitation gun on a shop counter as he paid for a can of cider.
Witnesses, who wished to remain anonymous, told the ECHO that a man walked into Save Express on Selwyn Street in Kirkdale to buy a can of cider at around 7am. As he paid, he took out what appeared to be a handgun and placed it on the counter as he got money out of his pocket.
According to those in the shop at the time, he did not threaten anyone and no injuries were reported. The man put the item back into his pocket after he paid and left the shop in the direction of Melrose Road.
