You've got a small window of time to capture a potential date's attention, so you've got to sell yourself as well as you possibly can.
But one man clearly didn't think his profile through before he hit the save button and it's landed him in hot water with women on social media.
Known only as Kirk, the man has been slammed on Twitter for his "misogynistic" profile.

A young woman named Zoe, who lives in Essex, came across Kirk's profile when she was swiping left and right on the dating app.
She was so shocked by what she saw that she decided to share it with the people of the internet.
Zoe posted screengrabs to Twitter, writing: "I thought I'd give Tinder a go but honestly, it's fully put me off dating."

Kirk's profile features a picture of himself, standing in a bathroom half naked, with his trousers around his ankles.
The 27-year-old didn't share much information in his bio, other than that he owns a two-bedroom flat, he's a body builder, he has a dog and he "doesn't take s***".
But what he did provide women with, were three rules for dating him.
And the rules have had people raising their eyebrows and dropping their jaws.

They read: "Rule 1, I don't want to be a step dad so no kids unless u have just one. I want my OWN thanks.
"Rule 2, if you date black boys or think about it don't even text me.
"Rule 3, I don't want a time waster or someone who is a bum... go make your own money u lazy f***s."
At the bottom of the profile he adds: "Good luck girls".

People on Twitter didn't hold back with their comments about the profile.
One person replied: "Dear men, this is Kirk. He's a narcissistic, racist, misogynistic, delusional muscle head. DON'T BE LIKE KIRK."
Another said: "I'm going to screen shot this for when my relatives ask me why I'm still single."
A third simply branded him "trash".
