A man was bottled after he challenged two yobs who were causing a rammy outside his Paisley house.
The 49-year-old was smashed over the head during the disturbance in Morven Avenue in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Cops said one of the suspects was also armed with a knife during the incident.
It’s understood the victim asked the brutes to keep the noise down outside his house as they shouted in the street.
The victim sustained minor injuries in the attack.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 12.45am, to come forward.
A force spokesman said: “A 49-year-old man was assaulted during a disturbance in Morven Avenue, Paisley, at around 12.45am on Sunday.
“He sustained minor injuries in the attack.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard the incident to come forward.
“We believe the suspects made off in the direction of Campsie Drive.”
Cops are also probing an incident on the dance floor at Vienna’s nightclub in Paisley after a young woman was assaulted.
A female yob dragged the 20 year old across the New Street club by the hair at around 2am.

The victim suffered a burst lip in the assault but did not require medical treatment.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are investigating after a 20-year-old woman was assaulted within a venue on New Street, Paisley at around 2am on Saturday.
“She was attacked by a woman and pulled across the dance floor.
“The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the club and witnessed what happened to get in touch with police.
“If you have any information in relation to the incident, please come forward.”
