Man bottled by gang of kids in Leeds and kicked repeatedly while on the floor

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was left with a gaping wound above his eye when he was struck with a glass bottle.


The man, 46, saw a young man in the McColl’s shop in Selby Road, Halton Moor, shortly before 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 18.


As the victim walked out of the shop, he was confronted by a group of youths. One of them hit him across the face with a glass bottle and he fell to the floor. The group then kicked him repeatedly before leaving the scene.


The man was taken to hospital, where he received stitches to a large gash above his eye.
West Yorkshire Police arrived at the scene to carry out enquiries last night and a cordon was put in place near the shop.


A 15-year-old boy was arrested by officers in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.


He remains in custody and police are continuing with their investigation as they look to arrest more suspects.
