AHMEDABAD: Madhavpura police registered case of forgery against Vikram Vaghela, who allegedly used the registration number GJ-01-SZ-9927 on his two-wheeler without it being allotted to him.
The complaint was lodged by P A Valvi, police inspector of A Division traffic police. Valvi said that that on March 31, at about 12.45am, 25-year-old Rafiq Fikar, a resident of Himmatnagar, died after he was hit from behind by a two-wheeler. The vehicle had been left at the spot.
Valvi stated that during the investigation, they found the vehicle bore the number GJ-01-SZ-9927. It was later revealed that the number was not allotted to anyone and there were no records for the number.
Valvi stated that from the chasis and engine numbers, they found that the vehicle had been purchased by Vaghela but he had not completed the registration process and hence no number was allotted.
On inquiry, it was revealed that Vaghela wanted to the number 9927 and had to pay for it but did not end up doing so.
Valvi said that the accident was caused by Vaghela’s son and hence he was booked as in the accident case for the death of Fikar on March 31.
